Please Note: All Beginners to attend Tuesday evenings (6:30pm.start)  Minimum age 5 Years of age for all Beginners.

CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS FOR GREG & THOMAS AT THE ALL ENGLAND JUDO FEDERATION COMPETITION:

Greg won Silver Medal and Thomas won Bronze Medal at the All England Judo Federation Championship held on Sunday 27th January 2019.  Competition was high from the other Judoka taking part, so WELL DONE to both of them for reaching the Winning Podium.  Debbie & Dee was there to support them both as their Mat-side Coaches.

Well, it’s that time of year again when the annual membership is due.  Over the past few years we have managed to keep practice session fees to the same amount, without increasing costs to our students, even though everything else, including our running costs have increased.  This Year, we have made a few changes that is intended to benefit everyone who attends WYJC.  We are scrapping the annual membership fee of £30.00 and introducing a new monthly payment system of £14.00 per month (payable in advance).

Each student will pay £14.00 per month (payable upfront at the beginning of each month) which represents £3.50 per week; however, this new fee will enable students to attend both sessions per week (i.e. Tuesday & Thursday) for that amount.  This represents better value for students and parents and makes collecting ‘nightly practice / session fees a lot less time consuming (for all concerned) as well as helping us to meet our overhead costs.

Please Note:  Beginners will only be able to take advantage of the extra sessions once they have attended the first Ten Week Beginners Classes, and there is a minimum age of '5 Years of age' for students starting from 2019.

So, to recap: £14.00 cash payment per month (irrespective of how many sessions attended within that month.  No refunds or roll-overs to the following month), however All Students (once they have completed our ten week beginner programme) can attend twice per week for that amount.  This is our 2019 BOGOF offer allowing Two Sessions per week for the Price of One Session per week.

We thank you for your co-operation in this matter and look forward to seeing you all at judo in 2019.

Debbie & Team

Please Note:  We are  Not-For-Profit Club and ALL of our Coaches are unpaid Volunteer Coaches and Do Not receive payment for their Coaching Time from students session Fees.  All monies received from Club Fees go directly back into WYJC to pay for Rent, Overheads & Equipment (and all other running costs).

Please Note:  If you are visiting Wolverhampton Youth Judo Centre for the first time (or if you haven't been for quite some time) may we suggest that you contact us prior to your visit just to confirm that we are open on the day & time that you wish to attend and also, for us to arrange for one of our Coaching Staff to greet you upon your arrival at our club.   Also; Please Note: All children under 8 years of age, require a Parent or Guardian to remain at the Club with their child (or children) during the judo session.  Telephone: 07765 709 716.

If you or your child are interested in achieving an Official British Judo Grade (different coloured Belts & Grade Levels) you will need to apply for membership to the British Judo Association (BJA).  However, it is most important that on Your (or Childs) 'Application Form' You include OUR Club Name & Club Number (Our Club name is Wolverhampton Youth Judo Centre & Our BJA Club Number is 4468).

To apply for individual membership to the British Judo Association (a Judo Licence); please go to their web site at: http://www.britishjudo.org.uk and go to the 'Main Menu' and click onto 'Individual Membership' and either download a form, complete it and send it off (together with a cheque for membership) directly to the BJA, or apply on-line & pay electronically.  You can also 'Renew' the annual BJA Licence on-line too (but please, please, please remember to include our club name = WYJC & our BJA number = 4468).  If you do not include our Name & BJA No. on Your Application Form (because of GDPR legislation) we will not be able to chase-up grades or any other queries on your behalf.

WYJC was awarded the prestigious 'Sport England Club Mark Award' in 2008 and we have ensured that the high quality standards needed to achieve this award have been maintained and developed further through continued personal & professional development of all of our Judo Coaches.  Knight, Kavanagh & Page acting as Auditors for Sport England carried out a 'Club Mark' External Verification on their last visit to WYJC and sent us an excellent review letter (just as in previous years; i.e. this was our forth EV visit since 2008).  You can read their comments by clicking onto the following Link (Click this Link to Read their Letter).  Pictured below: Senior Coach Keith standing next to 'Three Times Olympian' (and who was at that time BJA Chairman) Densign White (centre) presenting the Club Mark Certificate to the WYJC Head Coach Debbie (pictured receiving the Certificate), standing in front of some of our Junior & Senior Club Members.
